How do I tell if someone has a Family Note or a General Note?

As to the General vs. Family note, you're actually able to determine the nature of the note in any view. Just above the Spouses and Parents. etc. section of the Information Area (just below the toolbar and above the Sidebar icons), you'll see a row in which icons can appear depending upon what information has been entered for the person currently active. If s/he has a note, an icon that looks like a pad of paper/notepad will appear. If you then click on it, you'll be able to determine if the note is General, Family, or fact-based. You can even click on that text to open the note, itself.

If you are on a person's edit screen, family notes will appear as a check mark (under the note icon column) next to the names of a person's spouse or parents.  Clicking on the check mark will display the note.
