I receive a message, "Microsoft MDAC 2.1+ and Jet 4.0+ must be installed for Personal Historian to function."

If upon starting Personal Historian 1 you receive a message that states, "Microsoft MDAC 2.1+ and Jet 4.0+ must be installed for Personal Historian to function." it means that you need to download some additional support files that will allow Personal Historian to function correctly. These files are provided by Microsoft. You will only need to install these files once on your computer. As you install future updates to Personal Historian, you will not need to download or install these support files again.

To download the files, please choose your operating system:

Windows 95, NT, and 98

Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, and XP

The necessary support files come preinstalled with Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP. However, Microsoft has released updates to the files which can be installed by visiting Microsoft Windows Update.
