Family Reunion Organizer crashes as soon as the program starts (with a CodeBase error)

This is most likely because your Family Reunion Organizer data file has gotten corrupted somehow.  You need to tell FRO to not open that corrupt file when it starts so that you can restore your latest backup.  You do this by deleting the settings file for Family Reunion Organizer.

  1. Click the Start button in Windows, and in the little search box type FAMREUN.INI and press Enter
  2. When Windows finds and displays the file, delete that file
If the search can't find that file, follow this path to find the file and delete it:

c:\Users\{your user name}\AppData\Roaming\FamReunion

You should then be able to restart Family Reunion Organizer and have it come to the startup screen where you can restore your backup.
